Special Issue Information

Advanced functional, hybrid, and nanostructured materials are increasingly central to the development of next-generation technologies in energy conversion and storage, electronics, optoelectronics, sensing, catalysis, and related device applications. Their functional performance is governed by complex interactions among composition, synthesis and processing conditions, microstructure, interfaces, defects, dimensionality, and physicochemical properties. Understanding and controlling these relationships is therefore essential for the rational design and practical deployment of emerging materials systems.

This Special Issue, entitled “Advanced Functional, Hybrid and Nanostructured Materials for Energy, Electronics, Optoelectronics and Sensing,” aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for recent advances in the design, synthesis, characterization, modelling, optimization, and application of advanced materials with functional electronic, optical, electrochemical, catalytic, magnetic, and sensing properties.

We particularly welcome contributions addressing nanostructured and low-dimensional materials, semiconducting and optoelectronic materials, functional alloys, hybrid and composite systems, energy-storage and energy-conversion materials, sensing materials, photocatalytic systems, thin films, interfaces, and materials for emerging electronic and optoelectronic devices.

Both experimental and computational studies are encouraged. Particular consideration will be given to studies that establish clear links among processing, composition, structure, interfaces, properties, device performance, and application potential.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

· Advanced functional and smart materials

· Nanostructured and low-dimensional materials

· Semiconductor and optoelectronic materials

· Thin films, coatings, and heterostructures
